Only 3 WEEKS and 2 DAYS until baby boy is home sweet home. Is it weird to say it still hasn’t hit me yet?! The fact that I’m actually having a baby?! This pregnancy has flown by so fast I don’t even understand! My severe back pain I had in the beginning stopped and I have honestly felt so good this pregnancy (other than being exhausted) not so much with my first pregnancy. I gained a lot of weight (51 pounds 😳) and had sooo much swelling!! This pregnancy I’m proud to say I’ve only packed on 13 so far and I honestly feel great and I’m pretty damn proud of myself! Having a toddler pregnant is no joke, there is absolutely zero downtime. No naps for me. I can probably thank her for keeping my booty in shape this pregnancy! 🤣 #35weekspregnant #thirdtrimester #8monthspregnant .

Sitting here 40+3, I can’t help but get super emotional about my first baby Isamar. In just a couple days, hours, seconds, who knows at this point 🤷🏽♀️🤪 she’ll share me with her sibling. My pregnancy and birth with her was so beautiful and I pray that this delivery is similar. I thank God for her, for Claudio and everything he has blessed us with! One of the very friendly cats that sleep among the books and pages at Libreria Aqua Alta in Venice –which translates as ‘bookstore of high water’. our sunshine boy ☀️ we very often get asked how ezra is adjusting to his new lifestyle. in our opinion, he is t h r i v i n g. he’s outside every day (hence the tan!) and learning so much. he wants to touch every bug and run into every body of water (even though we don’t always let him 🐊) the best part is the bond that the three of us are building. ezra gets to spend so much more time with his daddy now. although it might mean giving up (a small fraction) of his mama favoritism, i wouldn’t change it for the world. this lifestyle is so very good for our little fam. .

Thanks to everyone who gave some feedback on whether or not I should keep posting about van life adventures here or make a separate account.
I’m happy to hear that most of you want to see it all here! Which just gives me some more things to contemplate — one of those being a NAME CHANGE.
Can’t be ‘handletteringbyky’ when there’s so much more to see than just lettering nowadays!
I mentioned a few months ago that I was ‘rebranding’ and to be honest, that has been a slooowwww process. I’ve felt completely unmotivated + uninspired and that’s just the freaking truth.
I’ve had a new name picked out for months. But changing your name is hard + I felt like it needed to be this big reveal. Silly, right?
So now I’m just going to do things when I want to do them + hope it lands. I’ll keep ya posted.

Weaning worries🥛

Though I’ll be talking to my doctor about this as well, I wanted to put it out here to see what you mamas & dads do. I’ll be going to work in less than a month, and therefore weaning Lucy of breast milk during the day. I still plan to nurse her about 3 times a day/night, before or after work. However while my doctor told me that Lucy NEEDS cow’s milk, I have researched thoroughly (from Children’s hospital websites and the like), and found that they do not, as long as they’re receiving enough protein and calcium elsewhere.
I am curious in the alternatives. Shane and I don’t drink milk ourselves, though we aren’t vegan or vegetarian. Personally, I just get kind of grossed out by it. We drink Silk Almond/Coconut blend, which is my favourite by far. I don’t know if there is a milk alternative that matches the nutritional value of cow’s milk, or if I should just ensure that her meals are fully loaded with everything she needs (we all love other dairy products like Greek Yogurt). One concern here, would be that some days she just isn’t into something in particular, and it’ll end up on the ground. What if that was the protein that would top her up that day?
From my research, soy milk is the closest in matching the nutritional value of cow’s milk. It has slightly less protein but contains more calcium and carbohydrates, and has almost no saturated fat (0.5g versus 4.55 in cow’s). If you give your baby a milk alternative, so you stick to soy, or is there something else I don’t know about yet?
