Day 114: Fever in the morning. Fever all through the night.
Woke up a bit off, but pushed through the day. By the time I got home I knew I was coming down with something. Checked my temp and it was over 101°. Managed to shake off the chills for a moment and did a few laps around the pond. Wasn't much of a ride, but I did break a sweat, which was probably due to circumstances other than biking.
First maintenance after 2225 km:
- New Sunrace chain (with 12v transmissions the lifespan of a chain is really short)
- New remote lockout cartridge (the original one got stucked quite fastly, hope this new one will work)

"While there are a wide variety of upgrades just about anyone can do to customize their motorcycle, some of the most impressive builds are those that completely transform the donor bike. And few builders are quite as good as that as the folks at Droog Moto..."⠀

It’s not Thursday but I’m throwin’ it back anyway with 2017’s ITU Long Course Worlds on Team USA in Penticton, BC. 🇺🇸 I can’t wait to get back there for @ironmantri Canada 2020! 🇨🇦 It’s a transitional year for me, but I can’t think of a better time or place to dedicate myself to our sport community with a big focus on making Florida a better, safer place for everyone who rides. 🍊 🚲
I’ve been asked numerous times about my goals for this race. I think my answers are personal, but I’m happy to share that above all else, I intend to be serious about my training without taking myself too seriously. I’ll be proud just toeing the line with everyone else that’s racing and honored to finish in one of the most beautiful race venues in the world. 🙏🏾
🏊🏽♀️ 🚲 🏃🏽♀️ The road back to 140.6 begins now.
SWIPE LEFT! 👈🏾 Hey, #FLORIDA ! 🍊
Historically, some of the places we least expect to pave the way with progressive bike legislation and inclusive infrastructure are the first to take giant leaps in the right direction (hello, Idaho circa 1982!). 🛑
Florida has been struggling with the highest bicycle mortality rate in the country many years in a row, but with a recent ban on texting and driving (effective July 1) and the implementation of thoughtfully designed, well maintained bike lanes, it’s exciting to see FDOT and local policy makers prioritizing our community, even if the progress is slow. 🚲
Bicycle turn boxes are a really big win and seeing them pop up in Lee County makes us feel pretty hopeful about our efforts to move the needle in the right direction for Florida’s bicyclists. Small ripples can surely create big waves! 🙌🏾
